Global Hearing Aids, Inc. was founded by Carol and Bill Collins in February of 2001. At that time, Carol and Bill had both been working in the Hearing Field for 6 years. They both felt they could help more people by owning their own business.
Carol has been a registered nurse for almost 30 years. She worked in the intensive care unit in a NY hospital. She then furthered her education and received a Masters Degree in Audiology in 1995. During her degree work, Carol worked at both Duke, and UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating, Carol took a position with Beltone and worked with hard-of-hearing people at Beltone until the end of 2000. During her work with Beltone, Carol received many distinguished Beltone awards, including the accomplishment of being named a Master Specialist.
Bill spent 18 years in the United States Air Force, and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1995. After his retirement, Bill also began a career in health care, with a focus on hearing. In late 2000 and early 2001, Carol and Bill began the creation of Global Hearing Aids, Inc. The company was founded in Feb 2001. They opened their first office in Mebane, North Carolina on the first day of March 2001. In October of 2003 Bill and Carol bought out Carolina Hearing Care of Burlington, and reopened in the same location 1043 S. Church St. the second Global Hearing Aid, Inc office. In February of 2008 the Burlington office was moved a mile from the original locaton on Church St to 133 N. O'Neal St. This location is in a new building with state of the art equipment.
Since the first day Global Hearing Aids, Inc. opened their doors, Carol, Bill and Kari have helped thousands of people hear better. They always keep in mind the client comes first.
